Winter melon, also known as wax gourd, is native to south east Asian regions and has a variety of uses in specific cultures. Some cultures include wax gourd in a stir fry dish and others boil the melon down into a tea. The immature fruit will be a furry friend to the neighboring plants in the garden. Then, it will begin to lose its small hairs and develop a waxy coat, as it approaches full maturity. NEW MOON reaches its maximum flavor potential when cooking and the texture will be similar to that of a cooked apple.
